What is Komboglyze?

Komboglyze is an oral anti-diabetic prescription-only medication and is one of several diabetic medications available for purchase online to treat type 2 diabetes in adults.

The two active ingredients are: Saxagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor), and metformin, a 'biguanide' medication. Komboglyze is effective for people whose diabetes cannot be effectively controlled by metformin alone.

Komboglyze is only available on prescription. However, you can get a private prescription for Komboglyze online from Prescription Doctor. Simply complete our online medical form for one of our doctors to review.

If your order is approved by our doctor before 3pm on a weekday, our UK pharmacy can dispatch your item the same day via a discreet next-day delivery.

How does Komboglyze work?

Komboglyze controls your blood sugar by increasing insulin levels after a meal.

It also lowers glucose that the body makes. It helps to reduce your blood sugar, along with diet and exercise.

Your doctor may prescribe Komboglyze on its own or alongside other anti-diabetic treatments.

How long does Komboglyze take to work?

While Komboglyze starts working within a few hours, it may take a few days or weeks for your blood sugar levels to stay within the normal ranges.

How do I take Komboglyze?

Always take Komboglyze as prescribed by your doctor.

Take one tablet twice a day.

Swallow Komboglyze tablets whole with a glass of water.

Komboglyze tablets should be taken with a meal.

Do not crush or chew Komboglyze tablets.

Your doctor may change your dosage throughout your course of treatment.

Follow a healthy lifestyle, exercise and any specific dietary advice your medical practitioner has provided.

What should I do if I forget to take Komboglyze when I should?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue taking your medicine as before. Never take more medicine to make up for the missed dose.

It is important to take the medicine at the same time each day.

What should I do if I take too much Komboglyze?

If you accidentally take too much Komboglyze, speak to a doctor immediately or go straight to a hospital, taking the medication pack with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drink alcohol while taking Komboglyze?

Avoid large amounts of alcohol with Komboglyze, due to the risk of lactic acidosis.  Symptoms can include feeling sick, vomiting, stomach ache, muscle cramps, generally feeling unwell with extreme tiredness and breathing difficulties.

You may experience reduced heartbeat and body temperature. As lactic acidosis can lead to coma, immediate hospital treatment may be needed. Discontinue the medication and contact a doctor or hospital. Take the medication pack with you.

Will Komboglyze impact my ability to drive or operate machinery?

Komboglyze's ingredients have a negligible influence in this regard. Hypoglycaemia could affect your driving ability and working with machinery, and Komboglyze combined with other medications, such as insulin or Sulphonylurea, can cause hypoglycaemia.

Will Komboglyze affect my contraception?

Komboglyze should not interfere with your contraception, including the combined contraceptive pill or the morning after pill.

If Komboglyze causes you to vomit or experience diarrhoea, your contraceptive may be affected. Consult the patient information leaflet for your contraceptive to see what to do in the case of diarrhoea or vomiting.

Can I buy Komboglyze online?

Yes, you can safely buy Komboglyze online from a registered pharmacy, such as Prescription Doctor. To begin your order, simply fill out our short medical questionnaire and our doctor will review your order. If your order is approved before 3pm, our UK based pharmacy will dispense and dispatch your item via a next-day discreet delivery service.
