Driclor is a roll-on deodorant, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, for people with hyperhidrosis - a condition that causes excessive sweating. Driclor is available to order online from Prescription Doctor without the need of a prescription from your GP.
Perspiration (sweating) is the bodies natural way of cooling down. In order to draw heat away from the body, sweat glands produce droplets of water which evaporate from the skin, taking away the heat with them.
But in some cases, the body sweats excessively. Hyperhydrosis can be caused by an underlying health condition, such as diabetes, menopause or an illness, or a side effect to a medication. Sometimes, it's not clear what causes excessive sweating.
No matter the cause, there are treatments available for hyperhidrosis, such as Driclor.
Driclor Solution is available in 60ml bottles that have a roller-ball at the end for easily covering your skin with an even layer of the solution.
To begin your order of Driclor, simply press the green button at the top of the page and complete our short medical form. If your order is processed before 3pm on a weekday, our UK pharmacy can dispatch your item the same day for a next-day delivery.
Driclor is a solution which contains aluminium salt (aluminium chloride hexahydrate). It treats hyperhidrosis by blocking the sweat pores, preventing sweat from forming on the skin.
When the metallic salt in Driclor is absorbed through the pores of the skin, it enters the sweat gland ducts. These are tiny tubes which transport sweat from the sweat gland to the surface of the skin.
The aluminium chloride draws in water and moisture inside the ducts of the sweat glands to create a thick, viscous gel.
This gel plugs up the ducts, preventing the sweat from travelling to the surface of the skin. The physical blockage of sweat gland ducts is not permanent, and is completely safe. Over time, the gelatinous plug will break down and clear, allowing sweat to escape.
The sweat that doesn't escape through the sweat ducts is reabsorbed by the body and eliminated through the urine.
There is a misconception that the action of antiperspirants prevents the body from getting rid of toxins through sweat. Toxins are eradicated from the body through the liver and kidneys - not the sweat glands.
Driclor is not a deodorant and does not contain any perfumes.
You should notice an improvement in your condition after using Driclor for 2 weeks.
If you do not notice an improvement, or if your symptoms get worse, speak to a doctor. Our doctors are available online through the "my chats" portion of your Prescription Doctor account.
Always follow the instructions provided in the patient information leaflet.
Driclor should be applied to dry skin.
Before you apply Driclor, you need to prepare the bottle.
To prepare Driclor for use:
Once the rollerball has been fitted, Driclor is ready to use.
To use Driclor:
Take care not to get Diclor in your eyes, mouth or lips as it can cause irritation. If you accidentally get Driclor in your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse the area immediately. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Driclor can be used with your regular deodorant. Use your regular deodorant after applying Driclor antiperspirant.
Before you use Driclor, you must read the patient information leaflet enclosed with your medication. The patient information leaflet contains instructions on how to store, use and dispose Driclor, as well as important information regarding the safety of the product.
You can read the patient information leaflet for Driclor online.
If you have any concerns about anything you read inside the patient information leaflet, speak to one of our online prescribers.
Driclor may not be suitable for you.
Do not use Driclor if you are allergic to aluminium chloride hexahydrate or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet.
If you experience the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction after using Driclor, stop using the product and go directly to your nearest accident and emergency department. Remember to take the packaging and any remaining medicine with you, so that doctors treating you know exactly what you have taken.
Driclor should not be used on recently shaved areas, or areas of the skin where you have applied hair removal creams. Leave at least 12 hours between using any hair removal methods and applying Driclor.
People with sensitive skin should speak to their doctor or a pharmacist before using any new topical treatment.
All medications carry the risk of side effects, though not everybody experiences them.
You should be aware of the risks associated with Driclor throughout your course of treatment.

However, breastfeeding women should take care not to get Driclor solution on their breasts.
You should always speak to your doctor or a pharmacist before using a new product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are unsure whether Driclor is suitable for you, one of our online doctors can discuss the treatment with you after completing our online medical questionnaire.
Inform our online medical team of all medicines you are currently taking, including those prescribed by your doctor, or bought over the counter, as well as any health or herbal supplements you are taking.
Warning: Driclor is flammable. Keep away from naked flames when using Driclor. Wash any surfaces which come into contact with Driclor, such as clothing and bedding, frequently to reduce the risk of fires.
Do not use Driclor past the expiry date printed on the packaging.
Always store Driclor upright in a cool, dry place below 25°C, out of sight and reach from children and pets.
Never throw away medicine via household or water waste, as this can be harmful to the environment. Instead, take any unwanted or expired medicines to your local pharmacy and ask them to dispose them safely on your behalf.
Never share your Driclor with anybody else, even if they are experiencing the same symptoms or have been diagnosed with the same condition as you.
If you forget to use Driclor when you should, use it the next time you normally would. Do not apply more Driclor to make up for a missed application.
It is safe to drink alcohol while using Driclor. You should avoid drinking more than 14 units of alcohol per week, as per the government's guidelines.
Driclor should not impact your ability to drive or operate machinery.
Do not use Driclor on your face unless you have been told to do so by your doctor.
You can reduce the risk of stinging and irritation when applying Driclor by making sure the area you apply the solution to is completely dry. Do not apply Driclor solution to cracked, irritated, cut or broken skin to reduce the risk of irritation.
Driclor can stain clothes and other fabrics. Leave time for Driclor to dry before covering the area with clothing.
You can shave while using Driclor. Avoid using Driclor immediately after shaving the underarms to prevent irritation.
It is not dangerous to prevent sweating. The sweat which accumulates in the sweat duct is reabsorbed by the body and either excreted through other sweat pores, or eliminated from the body as water waste.
You can buy Driclor online from reputable pharmacies such as Prescription Doctor. We offer a range of treatments for hyperhidrosis that you can buy without a prescription. All items are dispatched from our pharmacy in discreet packaging.
