About the CA 125 Test

Our CA 125 home testing kit uses a simple finger prick method to screen the blood to measure the levels of CA 125 antigen. The CA 125 test can be used to measure levels of the CA 125 protein, which may be elevated in cases of ovarian cancer and some other conditions.

It is important to note that elevated CA 125 levels do not always indicate Ovarian Cancer. CA 125 levels may also be high during other non-cancerous conditions including:

  • Menstruation
  • Pregnancy
  • Pelvic Inflammatory disease

What Does The Test Measure?

Our CA125 home test kit will screen the blood for CA125 antigen. The CA125 test can measure and indicate:

  • Ovarian Cancer
  • Diagnosing any pelvic mass (benign or malignant)
  • Endometriosis
  • Uterine Fibroids
  • Pregnancy
  • Menstruation
  • Liver disease

Why Should You Take the CA 125 Test?

You should consider taking the CA 125 test if:

  • You have a family history of Ovarian cancer or have a first-degree relative (mother or sister) who has/had Ovarian cancer.
  • Your doctor has recommended the test because of symptoms of ovarian cancer.
  • To help in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer without symptoms (typically after menopause).
  • To evaluate the growth or a lump in your pelvis area. Remember the lump could be benign as well since the CA 125 does not diagnose cancer.
  • To see if your ovarian cancer treatment is proving to be effective or not.
  • To detect if you have a high risk of getting ovarian cancer.
  • To check if your ovarian cancer has relapsed or not.

Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is the 6th most common cancer in women in the UK. If you have any of these symptoms, use our home testing kit CA125 to check your CA125 levels and discuss them with your doctor.
